First Day of 3rd Grade!

And they are ready to go and start the school year today ... as THIRD graders!!!  Goodness it doesn't seem like that is possible, but here we are ... Have a wonderful first day girls!!!

Last Day of Summer Break

The last day of summer break as school starts for the girls tomorrow ... so we took them to Wayzata for some Ben & Jerry's ... obviously chocolate was the flavor of choice today!

Fishing with Grandma & Grandpa

Grandpa and Grandma surprised the girls with a trip to Lagoon Park today to catch a few fish, which is something they really like doing with Grandma and Grandpa.  They had a great time once again but I think Grandpa would be happy if they learned to take the fish off the line ...

Lake Minnetonka Afternoon Cruise

The girls have been asking us to go on another boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka since we took Farmor on one last summer.  This time we took a daytime cruise and got to see a different part of the lake we do not normally get to see, it was beautiful weather to be out on the lake.

Finally on the boat and we got to sit on the upper deck right by the Captain, which the girls thought was pretty cool.

Lunch with Granny M

Daddy was finally home on a weekend day so we visited with Granny B and enjoyed a little lunch and dessert with her.

Parade Time!

Nothing better to do on a warm summer day than to find a local parade and have a little fun.  We hooked up with The Hokansons and headed to Prior Lake to watch Christian and his karate group perform during the parade.

Bags are ready to stuff with any candy or prizes that come their way ...

Oh no ... the Popsicles turned their tongues just a little bit blue!

How To Train Your Dragon 2

Our second day of mommy and Madison weekend found us having lunch at the Dairy Queen as a certain little Miss wanted some ice cream ...

After lunch and a little shopping, we hit the theater to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 with a slushie of course ... The show was great too!

Mommy & Madison Circus Date

Well this weekend found Madison and I home by ourselves as daddy was working and Alyssa was spending the weekend at a lake with a friend.  We decided to make the best of our free time with some quality mommy and Madison time.  For our first night alone, we headed to the circus!  There was a traveling show in Belle Plaine just across the street from Grandma and Grandpa's so we headed over there for the show and then had a yummy late dinner with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was hot and muggy with a little rain, so the "big top" was extremely warm, but we made do the best we could with snow cones and water.

One of Madison's favorite acts was the horses and their trainer ... so cute seeing the big horse and mini horse together.

Of course we HAD to buy the pink horse blow up for a souvenir, we even picked out a lovely blue dolphin for her missing sister ... always thinking of each other even when apart ...
