A Busy Day with Granny B!

We all awoke pretty early and were ready to head to breakfast at our favorite family stop, The Hungry Peddler.  We were on the road and got there a little past 8:30 a.m.  The girls, of course, opted for the yummy hot cocoa!

We were super surprised when our cousin, Chris, and his wife Jackie were seated at a table right next to us!  I am not sure who was more surprised, them or us!  It was great to see them and catch up.

After breakfast, we went out to Mormon Coulee Memorial Park to visit Papa B's crypt and to leave him some holiday flowers for the winter.  Peter even left him a new coin because we all know how much he loved his coins!

We stopped by Caribou Coffee on our way back to Granny's for a round of hot cocoas to go and spent some time relaxing (Granny and Peter) while I did some homework and the girls watched a movie.  Aunt Deb came over for a visit and the girls got to spend some time getting reacquainted with their second cousin, Sophie, who is one year younger than them.  They had a great time together.

Instead of cooking at home tonight, we headed out to Tom Sawyer's on the river for dinner.  The girls proclaimed it one of their new favorite restaurants, because the owner stopped by our tabled and gave them some candies!

We ended our day of activities by head down to Riverside Park to see the Rotary's Light display.  The girls thought it was amazing!

It was a fun day and now we are all tired and resting happily back at her apartment ... what a great day!

Visiting Granny B

We had an uneventful road trip over to La Crosse, Wisconsin and arrived at Granny B's right around lunch time.  We had fun catching up with her over the afternoon and were treated to dinner with good old fashioned La Crosse ring bologna ... well the girls and I were, but Peter ate leftover ham from the holiday!

We have a full day planned tomorrow, so we just hung out at Granny's today.  The girls were excited to see her again!!

An Afternoon with the Minis!

The weather worked in the girls favor today and was above 50 degrees F ... so The Half Pint Horse Foundation had an open three hour session with the minis for eight lucky kids and the girls were two of them!

They were so excited to spend the afternoon with Cookie, Coal and Joey!  Despite the exceptionally windy conditions, they had a great time and made the best of things doing a lot of grooming and hugging of the horses in the stables.  They were all smiles when I picked them up and proclaimed this the best day EVER!

A Little Shopping and Some Lunch

Our wonderful neighbor, Sherrin, took the girls shopping at Bath & Body Works to buy them special lotion and soap for their new bathroom in our new house, which we will be moving into in less than one week!  The girls had a lot of fun smelling all the different items in the store and made quick work of finding the smell they loved the best.

Alyssa loves smelling her Marshmallow Mint lotion and Madison loves her Chocolate Peppermint lotion!

We had a nice lunch in the food court area with Sherrin after shopping.  We also gave a her a sneak peak of the house before we headed out to the mall that morning.  The girls had a great time and are looking forward to spending breakfast with Sherrin next Saturday while the grown ups are moving our stuff into the new house.  They already placed their orders and it sounds like toaster waffles and yogurt are on the menu ... :)
