Alyssa Graduates from Sensory Therapy!!!

Today was Alyssa's last day of food/sensory therapy. We have decided that we are making good forward strides at home with her and that we will be taking the summer off. Mommy is still in touch with "Steve" our wonderful therapist with updates and if things stop progressing, but so far we continue to do well!
Alyssa has been working very hard to "try" more foods ... we have made real strides with a few bites of pizza, grilled chicken, lots of new veggies and fruits (all of which she loves). Thankfully ... we just keep adding a few new bites each time. We have even had lasagna a few times now!

So fingers are crossed in our home that we have finally crossed that line that was keeping her from eating ... at least we really hope so ...

Lake Minnetonka Regional Park Playground

We love it and will be spending a lot of our summer time in this gem of a park!! The play area is enormous and there is so much to do there, climbing, sliding, jumping, hanging, running, digging ... you name it we did it!!!
The playground:
The Sandbox:
The open fields:

This park is fabulous and HUGE!!! The girls have officially named it their "favorite" park. We also bought season passes to the swimming area ... another fabulous summer get-a-way!!

A Rite of Passage ... Sneaking Into Mommy's Make Up Bag

If a picture is worth a 1,000 words ... than these say it all! Let's just remind all parents out there that if your children are upstairs playing silently for a long time ... something naughty is going on ... it really isn't just a miracle ... :)

Return Visit To the Pirate Park!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Since daddy didn't make home for his real birthday on the 5th, we celebrated it today! Following our tradition, mommy and the girls got up early and snuck downstairs to get daddy's birthday cake and then we carried it upstairs to the bedroom singing Happy Birthday Daddy!! After greeting daddy with his birthday morning wake up call, we all headed back downstairs to have birthday cake for breakfast ... the girls loved the Scandinavian Strawberry Torte which is a standard in our home for birthdays!!

Daddy opened his gift, a new wedding ring with one diamond for mommy and two sapphires to represent his two beautiful September babies!

We had an enjoyable day and then met Grandma and Grandpa B, Granny M and Cousin Alexia for a birthday/Mother's Day dinner at Mancini's Char House!! Everyone had fillets but mommy went for the grilled lobster tail ... yummy!!

We even enjoyed a round of after dinner drinks in the lounge and the girls got to taste their very first Kiddie Cocktail (7-Up and grenadine syrup with a cherry) ... mind you this was their very first taste of soda pop ... and they arrived in glasses big enough for many children. The girls took a few very small sips, didn't like the carbonation and they were done, just wanted water please.

It was a fun evening with family and we think daddy enjoyed his belated birthday party!!

Love & Hugs -
Amy

Last Day of School ... Class Picture Time!!

Today was the girls last day of "school" until the fall. It was a fun morning of playing outside, having a potluck brunch and then using the parachute in circle time for one last bounce for each child. We girls were awarded their graduation certificates and all the kids posed for a class picture!

We are already looking forward to our weekly playdates over the summer with our classmates!!

Bring on summer!!!!!!

Just For Fun ...

I have been horrible lately at this blog and at life ... I think being unemployed has left me unmotivated ... but I turning over a new leaf and moving ahead and I am re-dedicating myself to this blog which is really for my children and their loved ones ... my apologies ...

So to kick off this new start I thought we would start with a few funny conversations we have had with the girls.

Funny #1 - Mommy, Alyssa, Madison, Grandma B and Granny M having dinner out

Alyssa: My daddy's name is Peter and he doesn't know anything.
Grandma B: Your daddy's name is Peter and he knows lots of things.
Alyssa: No he don't ... we just play with him.

Funny #2 - Madison, Alyssa and Mommy attending story time at the library. Mommy is sitting at a table with other mommies behind the kids when Madison comes running over ...

Mommy: What is wrong?
Madison: My pants (needed to be snapped together) ... TEACHER (referring to the librarian telling the story) ... PAUSE IT!!

Yeah ... we do not watch much TV around here ... :)

Maple Tree Pictures Compared

This is the original pic of mommy and her little sister, Aunt Carrie, back in 1975 when Grandpa B planted that Maple tree in front of our house:

This is the picture of Alyssa and Madison in 2009 in front of that same tree:
