Daughter Dance at JES

Tonight daddy and I escorted the girls to their first daughter dance.  We have never gone in previous years as daddy has been out of town ... but not this year, so we decided to go!

Going through the school work the girls brought home today, I found this in Madison's bag ... it reads:

Fun in the Snow!

The weather was a bit warmer than we have gotten use too and the girls decided to head outside and actually try to play for a change!  They targeted the large snow pile across the street as they play zone and had a blast sliding down it and digging "nests" in the top of it to snuggle down in to!

Happy Valentine's Day 2014!

The day started out with chocolate roses and stuffed animals from mommy and daddy and then the girls had an amazingly fun day at school today sharing and trading Valentine's with their classmates and friends.  Just when they thought the day couldn't get any better, Coal from Half Pint Horses showed up at the door with a lollipop bouquet for them!  They were more than a little surprised to say the least and they LOVED every second of it!

Even though it was really cold outside, the girls came with me and the Half Pint Horse folks to delivery bouquets to three other houses around our area.  The girls got to lead Coal to and from the houses and guided him with the other children.  They even learned how to load Coal into the mini-van by Papa Chris.  They are so excited for summer to get here again and attend Half Pint Horse camp with Coal, Cookie, Joey and the new mini Rocket!  We can't forget full size horse Max either!

After all the lollipops were delivered, we said good-bye to Coal and headed out to dinner at Crave to celebrate the day.  Dinner was wonderful as usual and the day was simply perfect.

We love our girls more than they will ever know and to hear them explain over and over that this was the best Valentine's Day ever was music to our ears ... We love you girls!!!

Making Valentines with the Girl Scouts

Our troop had a meeting tonight and they worked hard and had a lot of fun making homemade Valentine cards to share with the residents at an elder care facility as well as making a few special cards for a sick little girl recovering from surgery in a local hospital.  It is nice to see them all working so hard to give someone else a little smile ...

Valentine Boxes ...

Are finally done ... after having the note come home from school nearly 10 days ago and days and days of the girls fretting that they would have to go to school without fancy boxes ... we got them done.  Madison requested a pink unicorn and Alyssa wanted a purple zebra.  I think, if I do say so myself, that we managed to do fairly well and the girls LOVED the finished products.  We will deliver them to school tonight at the parent-teacher conferences just in time for Valentine's Day tomorrow ... phew!

Almost Famous ...

Our good family friend, Sherrin, was at the government center in Shakopee this week and happened to stop by a display case showing artwork by the 2nd grade classes of JES illustrating what the liked best about Jordan!  While she was admiring all the artwork, she couldn't help but notice our very own Alyssa and Madison had artwork on display.  She very kindly took photos of the display and their work for us!  Not to bad ...

Maple Maze and Lunch with Old Friends!

We had a large delivery of Girl Scout cookies to make to our friend Heather and her girls, so we jumped in the car for a long overdue visit with them in Maple Grove.  We met them at Maple Maze and let the four girls have a good time running around and playing.

After two hours of playing, we headed to Biaggi's for lunch.  We had a great time visiting with Heather, Sophia, Lilly and the new man in their lives, Nathan.  We can't wait to get together with them again soon!

Girl Scout Cookie Kick Off 2014

Tonight was the BIG night where the girls spent two hours learning everything there was no know about selling Girl Scout cookies, eating them and hanging with friends!  We managed to hit all the booths and all the girls got their names drawn for a door prize which was really fun for them!  Afterwards, they got to spend the night at Mia's house which, of course, was nothing but fun!

Track & Field ... Then Dino's!

We headed to Mankato today to watch Josh compete in a track and field indoor competition at MSU.  It was fun seeing the meet and watching Josh run hurdles.  After Josh's events were finished, the family met at Dino's for yummy pizza ... always a good time!!!!
