Impulse Dance Performance at Oak Terrace

Today the girls had an informal dance performance at Oak Terrance Retirement Village.  Although some practice is still needed before the big formal recital in a few weeks, all in all the groups did a great job and all the girls had a lot of fun!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone!  Yes, that is Aunt Carrie being Aunt Carrie and I think Madison is realizing she is going to get a run for the money in the family funny girl department with her in the house today!  

The girls are showing off the Easter Eggs we made the day before and although they turned out really pretty, Josh informed us that the insides were colored nearly as dark as the outside ... but that didn't stop him from eating 8 or 9 of them himself!

Grandma and Grandpa hosted a fun day with great food, lots of smiles and, of course, an egg hunt for the kiddos.  The girls were the only ones looking for eggs this year, but they got a lot of help from Josh, Ciara and Kaylynn.  They were excited with each item they found!

Lake Calhoun & A Visit To Cupcake!

It was another beautiful spring day and daddy was home with us, so I took a break from the studying to enjoy the day with the girls at Lake Calhoun.  We went to enjoy a walk and let the girls hit the playgrounds scattered around the lake.  We even managed to fill up two ice cream pails full of bark and twigs to use as supplies when we finish our future fairy houses for the tree rings in our yard.

Our first stop around the lake was one of the girls' favorite little parks ... they love all the climbing and riding areas they have here and, of course, the tire swing!

We walked further on the trail leading us around the lake until we spotted another park in the distance.  Daddy headed back to where we parked and drove the car to that part of the lake while the girls and I continued walking.  We stopped and enjoyed the view of Lake Calhoun from the foot bridge along the way.

We found another little spot along the walk to the next park and we stopped and watched the water a little more and saw a dog enjoying himself in the water too!

We finally found our way to the park and the girls took off running to the climbing equipment and swings!

The had a great time on the equipment and it was fun just to enjoy the warm sun, cool breeze and be outside together!

We still had one more surprise for the girls and we had to get going if we were going to fit it in before supper time arrived.  We drove over the river to University Avenue in Minneapolis and found our destination ... Cupcake!  A little restaurant that specializes in fabulous Cupcakes ... and boy were they good!!
