Puppet Project

Since mommy has been really busy with her first college course since deciding to return to school, we decided to spend a little time together and build puppets with the girls.  They had a great time making them and really love playing with them now that they are completed!

Easter Sunday!

We had a wonderful Easter at Grandma and Grandpa's house again this year.  They out did themselves with the egg hunt and baskets for all the grandkids.   Only three out of give grandkids decided to the egg hunt this year, with Joshua and Kaylynn offering to help hid the eggs instead ... I guess they are growing up on us.

Even though the holiday fell at the end of April this year, the good old Minnesota weather still didn't cooperate entirely, causing us to have to wear jackets over our dresses, but at least we avoided snow boots!

It was a fun day with family and lots of good food ... thank you, as always, Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Oh ... we also got to enjoy using our new bubbles even though we were wearing fancy dresses ... thanks to Aunt Carrie's creative thinking ... she made garbage bag dresses!!!  :)

Dying Easter Eggs

The Easter Bunny Visited Early ... So Daddy Would Be Home!

We woke up this morning to find that the Easter Bunny had received our little "e-mail" asking if he could stop by our home a little early this year, as daddy was scheduled to be out of town on a trip.  We were not sure if he would get the e-mail in time or if it would be possible, but he got it and showed up with a few hours to spare before daddy had to leave.

The girls were excited and it didn't take them long to figure out where their baskets had been hidden this year ... that tricky bunny put them mommy's display cases in the living room!

He also managed to leave a few of his trademark bunny prints on our sidewalk and mommy's carpeting, but she didn't even get upset about it!!!

We are happy daddy was able to help us celebrate a little before he had to leave and we are looking forward to the big egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's on Sunday with the family!

Easter Egg Hunt at Spring Lake Park

35 degrees F, extremely windy, wet and snow on the ground ... again ... yes, it is April 16th and yes we spent the afternoon outside looking for Easter Eggs and riding ponies.  The fact that the girls enjoyed every second of both activities, especially the ponies ... made the terrible cold weather tolerable for this mommy.

We met up with the Tammy, Chris and the boys and made our way to Spring Lake Park in Prior Lake for their Easter/Spring Celebration.  I am sure the organizers were likely as upset about the cold, wind and snow as we were ... but still there was a good turnout for the fun.

Before the egg hunt started, the girls and boys had a chance to ride on a pony for a little ride around the lot.  The girls were all smiles the entire time they were on their ponies.  They were so happy to have had the chance to ride again and really can't wait to find more pony rides this summer.

We also took a few minutes and toured a fire truck and hit the warming house for a short break before the egg hunts started.   The kids were anxious to get started and when the alarm rang to signal go ... we had to get out of the way or get run over!!

We were not the lucky finders of the eggs with golden tickets in them, but we did get a few pieces of candy and some plastic eggs to take home to play with, which is always fun when you are five.

After all the fun at the park, we decided to stop by Christian and Heath's to play for a bit before heading home.  We had a wonderful time, despite the cold and are counting the days before the Easter Bunny visits our home!!

The Teddy Bear Band!

The Teddy Bear Band was performing at the Jordan High School tonight so we jumped in the car and headed up to the school to enjoy the 45 minute concert for kids and their teddy bears.  Christian and Heath joined us at the school to have some fun too!

The kids each brought their own Teddy Bears with them and spent the time dancing and moving with their little bears.

The boys were a little slow to warm up to all the action happening around them and spent some of the time chilling with their mommy before joining the girls in a few activities.

The girls had a lot of fun dancing with their bears and when they needed a break they didn't waste the music time and just made their bears do the dancing!

The biggest hit of the night was the very last song ... "Bears in the Air" ... the kids were encouraged to toss their teddy bears up in the air and catch them over and over ... it was teddy bear popcorn in the gym!!  Even the boys decided to join in the fun!

We had a fun time dancing with the bears and when we arrived home their was no problems falling straight to sleep for bedtime ... thank you Teddy Bear Band!

Making Banana Bread For Daddy

Daddy was due home this afternoon after a five day trip and we found a bunch of rotting bananas in the kitchen ... so, of course, we made some bread for daddy, because we know he loves it!

We had enough bad bananas on hand for two loaves, so each of the girls got to make their very own loaf for daddy and they sure had fun doing it.

Daddy said the house smelled great when he walked in and that the bread tasted even better!!!  :)

Prior Lake School Carnival Fundraiser

 Today we went to a fundraising carnival for the Prior Lake School Systems with Tammy and the boys.   Although it was a busy and noisy event, the kids seemed to have a lot of fun playing all the games for little prizes and treats.

The girls also got their faces painted by some of the local students.

After spending all our tickets and cashing in our stamps for prizes, we headed out to Axel's Bonfire for a nice lunch with Tammy and boys ... it was a fun morning with good friends, who could ask for more??!!!

The ECFE Spring Fling 2011

Tonight is the night ... *sigh* ... our very last Spring Fling.  With Kindergarten right around the corner for the girls this fall, this dance signals that we are nearing the end of our time in the ECFE program.  The girls have flourished as individuals and have had so much fun over the years being a part of this wonderful program and as excited as we are to be heading to Kindergarten, we will also miss the ECFE group.

Daddy was out of town for work, so this year it was just mommy and the girls.  We got all dressed up and headed out to enjoy a evening of spring crafts, pizza, ice cream and dancing!

The girls loved being dressed up and look absolutely adorable, if I do say so myself!  We enjoyed a slice of pizza and some lemonade before heading over to make little Easter baskets and to decorate an egg to put inside of it.

The Girl Scouts were hosting the craft event and were there to help our little crafters accomplish their task at hand.  The girls had fun working the Girl Scouts and managed to keep the paint off their dresses!

After making our baskets, the girls spent the rest of the enjoying running, dancing and hula hooping their way around the gym with some of their school friends who also attended the dance.  They had a wonderful time and even topped off the evening with an ice cream sundae before heading home to bed.   It was a fun evening that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Hitting the Park ... Finally After A Long Winter

Today, even though it was windy and not the warmest, we headed over to visit Christian and Heath and play a bit in the park by their house.   Apparently many other kids in the neighborhood had the same thoughts as the park was pretty full.

The kids still found plenty to do with the sandbox, running in the open field and hitting the swings for a bit of fun.

After playing outdoors for a while, we headed back to the house and had dinner with the boys and some more fun playing with their toys indoors.  

We are so happy the weather is finally warming up after our very long, cold winter!
