Thank you Aunt Linda and Uncle Pat for sending us some delicious and calorie free caramel apples ... they were a huge hit with the girls!!!!!

Cutting Down & Decorating Grandma & Grandpa's Christmas Tree

Today was the BIG day ... heading out with the family to cut down the Buchholtz and Barker Christmas trees for 2012!  Somehow mommy got talked into going along as the girls should be there having fun with everyone ... so we were off.

This year we had to head towards Waconia to get the trees as our normal tree farm is no longer open for business.  When we arrived at the new tree farm, the girls and I went straight to the warming house and got a cup of warm apple cider ... all smiles so far!

Heading out the trees via tractor and wagon ... long, cold, bumpy ride, but we are still all smiles!

Mommy is already cold and we are not even to the trees yet ...

The search is on for the perfect trees ... which ones will be the right ones??

This one is Grandma and Grandpa's tree and the one next to it became the Barker's tree ... they looked great!

All cut down and ready to be dragged to the pick up spot ... just have to wait for the return of the tractor and wagon and we will be on our way back!!

We were all a bit colder on the ride back to the warming house ...

Santa greeted the girls at the warming house with cookies right from the oven and a cup of warm cider ... perfect for their cold little hands and tummies!

Back at Grandma and Grandpa's the kids got busy helping Grandma and Grandpa decorate the tree ...

Cake Decorators!

The girls got a visit from our neighbor, Sherrin, today and mommy as a result had a little free time to accomplish a few things around the house that needed to be done so the house could be listed on the sale market.

Today Sherrin brought with her a cake she baked in a Dora the Explorer cake pan and everything necessary to decorate it.  The girls had a great time mixing colors into the frosting and using piping bags and tips to decorate sections of the cake.

The cake actually looked pretty good when the girls had finished it and it tasted even better!  Thank you so much Sherrin for once again bringing a fun project over for the girls ... they loved it!!!
