It's Pumpkin Time ... Anoka County Farms Here We Come!
Today was a beautiful day to be out and about looking for our Halloween pumpkins. We decided to make the trip to Ham Lake once again this year and check out Anoka County Farms.
Just like last year, they didn't disappoint the girls in the least. The ponies were back and ready to give a few rides and hugs. We can't get over how much both girls really love horses and ponies, but in particular Madison just has a natural affinity towards all animals. They both just glow with happiness when they have the chance to ride a pony or hold a bunny.
As you can see, Alyssa now hits the 4 foot mark easily this year with Madison just a few inches behind!
Our little ghosts had fun posing for pictures in between playing with pumpkins and farm animals.
After finding our pumpkins, the girls all headed out for a hayride around the property. It was an extra long ride and the girls loved every minute of it ... mommy just happy to move out range of the tractor exhaust when it was over.
We finished off our morning with an early lunch at the food stand with hot dogs, french fries, mini-donuts and hot apple cider and, of course, grabbed a bag of fresh kettle corn for the long ride back home.

Autumn Celebration at Lakefront Park
Autumn is here and so begins all the fall festivities in our wonderful area! Today there was a free family autumn celebration at Lakefront Park in Prior Lake. The girls and mommy headed over to meet up with Tammy and the boys for a few hours of fall fun!
The pony rides were probably the girls' most favorite activity of the day, but then ponies are pretty darn wonderful!!
It is hard to get five kids to cooperate for a photo, but we did the best we could ... kind of ...
We visited the clown who made balloon shapes twice as Madison's pink dog pictured below had an early demise when it hit the sharp tips of the dying grass.
In the end, we were happy with two flowers for the girls!
Finally we found our way to the pumpkin painting table and the girls both took their work very seriously as you tell by their faces as they paint.
We had a lovely day and even enjoyed hot cider, cookies and kettle corn as part of the fun ... not to mention a horse drawn wagon ride ... According to Alyssa ... "This is the best day ever!"
