Then it progressed to roller blading ...
Then from inside the house while cleaning up from lunch ... I heard the scream ... ran outside to find Alyssa laying on her stomach at the end of the driveway panicking, in a lot of pain and hyperventilating. I got her up the house and daddy got her gear off of her and just like that I was off to the hospital ER with both girls (one as a patient and one for moral support). Daddy had to get his glasses repaired and he planned to met up with us at the ER.
The ER at St. Francis is both an ER and an urgent care. We, however, were sent to the ER because of Alyssa emotional state. We waited in the waiting room for what seemed like a long time, but really was probably 15 minutes. She wasn't bleeding and didn't have any bones protruding, so we could wait. Alyssa just keep repeating while crying, "I think I am going to die." I reassured her that it was highly unlikely and helped her to calm down her breathing.
She was nice and calm by the time the ER doctor saw us and they ordered x-rays right away which showed a buckle fracture of the distal radius ... in essence a broken wrist ... affecting her right arm of course.
She was treated with some pain meds and then a splint was applied with orders to see an orthopedist in two days for an actual cast ... fun stuff for a kid trying to enjoy the first days of summer ...
