Cupcake!

Daddy was home and we headed out for some family time at the Mall of America and found ourselves as Cupcake!  Obviously one of our favorite stops ...

Valley Fair ... Fun Summer Days!

It has been a busy week with the girls having had a big sleepover at our house Saturday night and then one of the neighborhood girls returned the favor the very next night and had everyone over to their house Sunday night.  It has been a lot fun having so many girls in our new neighborhood who all get along so well.  Sopie, Lilly, Regan, Bobbi and Annika have been so much fun for the girls this summer!

Today Mrs Angie (Lilly and Sopie's mom) took all the girls to the library and out for ice cream sundaes at McDonald's.  The girls had a great time!

As if that wasn't enough of an outing today ... we had plans to meet Tammy and the boys at Valley Fair for the night and we were excited to see them again and hit the park!  The girls and I arrived a little early and I forgot to bring sunscreen, so we entered the park and spent too much money on a container of sunscreen inside but it is way better than burning.  I got the girls covered and we found a shady spot by The Wave and waited only about 10 minutes before the boys arrived.

The kiddos hit the wave right away and then we were off to head to the water park which was open until 8:00 pm tonight and it was 5:30 pm when we all arrived.  The kids hit a few rides along the way to the water park but spent from 6:00 until 8:00 pm using the water slides and enjoying the wave pool until the water park closed.

After the water park closed, the helped the kiddos get dried off and changed into dry clothes and headed back over to the rides.  The girls wanted to try and win a prize at some of the games and they both succeeded with the help of some extra money and a couple of very kind teenagers running the games they chose.  They are proud of their prizes either way ...

We made sure and hit The Wild Thing, Corkscrew, Monster and the super swing before settling down to a snack of mini donuts.  A few more rides and we got to see the fireworks before closing.  We all had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it all again another day!!

New Cast Day & Bad Kitty Book Club

This morning we got a very early start (for summer anyway) as we had to have Alyssa at Dr. Pey's office to get her cast removed and a new one placed.  She did amazingly well during the removal process and was super excited to finally get her purple cast and with a yellow stripe ... a Viking cast just for her daddy!  She will remain in this cast for 2 1/2 to 3 more weeks and then hopefully that will be it followed up by a couple more weeks of activity restrictions after the removal.

This afternoon and brought the girls back to the local library for the second Bad Kitty Book Club.  Today they discussed Happy Birthday Bad Kitty and reportedly got to make their own cookies while discussing their favorite parts of the book!

Dragon Clay Class

Last night the girls had a sleepover at their friend Lilly's house ... I am going to guess there wasn't much sleeping actually done as both girls went straight into Madison's room to rest and I found them sound asleep on the floor. They slept for more than two hours and I had to wake them up so that we wouldn't miss their clay dragon class this afternoon.

We picked up their friend Mia and I took all three girls to class.  I decided to stay at the two hour class with them to help Alyssa as her right wrist is still in the cast.  Poor Madison only made it 30 minutes into the class before she got physically sick (in the bathroom fortunately) and I had to take her home to stay with daddy.  I returned to class with very specific ideas from Madison for me to use while I tried to finish her dragon for her and help Alyssa with hers.  I didn't really have time to snap pictures during the process as I was really busy trying to help with two dragons and complete them.

We had a great time at the class and only wish that Madison would have been able to stay for the entire class.  We will definitely be taking another class with Mrs. Maureen very soon.

These are the girls' finished dragons ... Madison's is the pink and yellow one and Alyssa's is the purple and green one, we think they turned out great!

Dairy Queen with Sherrin

The girls and I picked up Sherrin for dinner tonight at Clancy's and Sherrin surprised the girls after dinner with a trip to the Dairy Queen for ice cream.  The told the girls they could have whatever they wanted.  Madison stuck with her small hot fudge sundae while Alyssa chose to get a very large brownie supreme, her eyes were actually a bit bigger than her tummy tonight!

Pizzeria Lola's

Daddy was home and I mentioned Lola's to him and we were off to have dinner at our favorite brick oven pizzeria.  The weather was beautiful and we opted to sit outside on the sidewalk patio and enjoy dinner with our girls.  The food was wonderful as always!

Horse Camp July 7-10th!

This week the girls have been away to mini-horse camp with Half Pint Mini's each morning.  Sadly, we didn't get a lot of pictures this year as we carpooled with two other families and I wasn't there everyday to get pictures.  The girls had a great time though and thought it was fun to have a couple of school classmates at camp with them this year.

Dinner at Mancini's

The family went out to dinner at Mancini's to enjoy a meal with our visiting family both from California and Florida.  Dinner was wonderful, as was the company ... but the girls were most impressed with the two cakes they brought us for dessert!

House is Down and Time with Tanner

Today we managed to get the rest of the old farm house down and most of the debris cleaned up which was a heck of a project but there was a great work crew to help get the job done!

The girls relaxed inside Aunt Carrie and Uncle Kory's house with Lori and baby Tanner.  Lori reported that both girls were super helpful and sweet with her and Tanner ... which made mommy proud!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today the girls and I arrived at Aunt Carrie and Uncle Kory's farm to camp for the holiday weekend and help with the old house tear down.  There were not many pictures taken but we did have some sparklers and fireworks to celebrate the holiday!

Angry Bird Party at Belle Plaine Library and Construction with a View

There was an Angry Birds Party at the Belle Plaine Library today and so the girls and I jumped into the car and headed over to check it out.  The library in Belle Plaine is not nearly as nice as our brand new library right here in Jordan, so we were reminded how lucky we are to have such beautiful new facility in our own town.  The party consisted of a few treats and some games that involved a little bit of physics and a lot of angry birds!

The girls both took turns at seeing just how far they could get a gummy worm to stretch and had to record it in both inches and centimeters ... then, of course, they ate their worm!

Another fun activity was angry bird bowling where they had to try and knock down building blocks hiding a pig!

 

When we got back home from the library event, the construction had begun next door to us and the girls decided to watch the worker dig the basement ... they opted for a pretty close up and personal view!!

Cast Day!

This morning we saw Dr. Pey (Fi) at Twin Cities Orthopedics to have Alyssa's x-rays reviewed and a cast applied.  He said the fracture looked to be in good alignment and she would likely need to be casted for five weeks.  The good news was that she was getting a waterproof cast and will allow her to still go swimming and enjoy the water park at Valley Fair this summer.  We will have to return in three weeks to have a new cast put on but other than that, we are now on our own unless something happens to the current cast.

After much personal debate, she decided on a bright neon green cast with a glow in the dark stripe added, oh as well as some green glitter ... my casting has come a long way since I was a kid ...

Since it was nearly lunch time when we were finished at the orthopedic office, we headed to Noodle & Company for some food before starting our shopping spree for the camping weekend in a few days!
